EducationI graduated from the University of Florida in May, 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry and an American Chemical Society Certification awarded for completion of advanced level coursework.
I have been admitted to 2 Ph.D Chemistry programs and am awaiting decisions from 4 others. I plan to begin the programs in the Fall of 2014.
During undergraduate at the University of Florida, I excelled and passed both semesters of Organic Chemistry (2100/211) as well as the laboratory component.
I also took upper level in the subject including CHM 4295 Advanced Topics, CHM 4235 Organic Spectroscopy, and CHM 4272 Organic Chemistry of Polymers.
Additionally, I did two semesters of organic chemistry undergraduate research at the Florida Center of Heterocyclic Compounds at UF directed by Dr. Alan R. Katritzky and supervised by Dr. Oleg Bolshakov.
ExperienceFor the last two years I've worked as a chemist within the research and development department of a start-up battery company but was recently let go due to budget cuts.
I've tutored General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry coursework formally and informally for 4 years with about a dozen students. I also worked two semesters at UF as a TA for an Intro to Chemistry course.
