I really got the best value for my money. I have signed up for tutoring with Kaplan, Princeton review and couple of others and when I took the test, I had V=142 and Q=146 but when I ran into Emmanuel, Abacus, profile on University Tutor, I decided to give it a shot considering the reviews of some of the students. I contacted him and he responded immediately. He set up a time and drafted my study plan. I really like Emmanuel because he is very detail and his strategies are so unique Infact, one of his student I met few weeks into the tutoring session had a GRE score of V=165 and Q=163 and that gave me relief that I was on the right path. I eventually took the test 3 weeks ago and I had V=156 and Q=161. I have already lost all hopes that I can never do well in the test considering the amount of energy and money I expended earlier but Emmanuel appear to be better than many of the popular GRE book authors and many tutors I have come across. He came up with some strategies that I couldn't have possibly mastered and I applied those strategies and I was surprised it works. I had 13 minutes left in my quant and now I have surpassed the 50th percentile requirement for my program. Although, I had a little concern about the charges as one of the students explained but Emmanuel made me understand that, because students tutoring need differ, he charge $20 to only SAT students and different charges for higher standardize tests. Above all, I found his session very interesting and educating and I paid him more than what he requested although he could be pushy sometime but it works well for me. He is very considerate in pricing; at some point I couldn't pay and he encourage me to continue and ask me to pay when I have the money. Therefore, If you are in my previous shoes, I will strongly recommend Emmanuel to you.
I was charged double than what his listed price is on here ($40 and hour rather than $20) even though I do not believe the quality of the tutoring session was worth nearly that much. While he helped make some concepts more clear, we hardly covered 1/4 of the material I presented to him to go over in the two and a 1/2 hour session. There was also a bit of a language barrier, which made things difficult and confusing.
I had on my first exam a 147 and 143 in math and verbal. I studied with Abacus and he made everything so simple. I thought I could only increase my verbal score but he showed me tricks and drills that made math questions I would take 4 minutes for solvable in 20 seconds. He gave me practice exams which were much more difficult than the real exam. He will find your weaknesses and make them strengths I ended up with a 160 and 151 in math and verbal I recommend him to anybody who wants a better score!!!
Abacus is the best tutor i have ever met, I was impressed with the way he handled the Statistics, Economics (Micro and Macro) and Mathematics. Having him as my tutor encouraged me to pursue my graduate degree in Economics. He is very detailed in explaining the difficult concepts in economics and he is relatively cheap too because he is very considerate. Now that his tutoring has impacted positively on my grade, I can conveniently recommend him to anyone because I would contact him again for the GRE.
Abacus T. is a very brilliant and intelligent tutor with grasp understanding of the micro and macro economics. My grades in these classes have incredibly improved ever since I started tutoring with him. He is very considerate with charges; he suggested another type of payment which pretty pay off after all because I ended up paying lower than i thought. He helped me with my school assignment and my exam review questions and I got better understanding of what the courses entail. I would gladly recommend him to my friends and to students who may need help with Economics courses. Abacus is a bravo!
He is well composed and understands GRE quantitative and verbal reasoning exceptionally well. He is very flexible in timing, organized in approach and very detailed in teaching. I surpassed my minimum score on both verbal and quantitative portion of the GRE. When I first took the test I had 146 on both Quant and verbal but I needed at least 50th percentile on both to be competitive which was why I decided to seek for the services of an experienced tutor. Abacus T. taught me some powerful strategies, which I have not found in any reading materials, to ace the test and despite limited time I had to retake the test, I followed Abacus T. strategies on the test and I scored above 60th percentile. Abacus gave me countless of homework that almost break me into pieces but it all pay off at last. One nice thing I would also say about him is that he always follow up on his students and his nice philosophy is that "your money will work for you". I eventually paid lower than amount he charged and my score is now very competitive, according to the graduate coordinator of my program, Therefore it payoff of for me to have had him as my tutor. I would highly recommend him to anyone who find themselves in my shoes.
