If something isn't adapted to the student as it is in a one on one session, then weekly reviews don't do any good. Testing companies also usually take guesses as to the general content being taught rather than working directly with the lecture content. ATTN PARENTS: I will absolutely tutor high school and middle school students if we can arrange a schedule for the basic sciences, mathematics or SAT prep. I offer private tutoring on some week nights and weekends by availability. I ask for a list of the topics and the goal before starting a session.

I'm very pro science education in the sense that I try to instill career trajectory with the subjects that I tutor if a student requests it. My services have been rewarding. The current academic system is so focused on credit completion it doesn't instill the application aspect of a "degree" and how to work and obtain a job to make a living, something that trade and professional schools do from the start. My approach: Everyone learns through different mediums: Auditory, visual, hands on, etc. In EVERY problem that I work with in a session, I create steps which I may or may not number in order for a student to follow along and see the process to an answer. I employ mnemonic strategies for remembering large amounts of information and always write out solutions while speaking and encouraging the student to do the same. This offers a visual, auditory, and hands on component in my approach. I find that I can work with students to create detailed approaches to problems and ways to conquer difficult science concepts. Many times this involves sectioning certain pieces of information to see things in a different perspective or developing a general idea off of which to derive other concepts in an effective manner. This also includes understanding trends in science and simplifying large concepts for understanding before delving into details.
