Private tutor in Gainesville, FL
Education
University of Missouri-Columbia - Bachelors, Chemical Engineering
Experience
In December, I will graduate from the University of Missouri at Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. I teach a wide range of subjects in math. I like tutoring people who are wrestling with math how to succeed and become confident about their math skills. I use examples from the real world to help students learn and relate to their subject. I believe that every student can achieve great results, given a dedicated tutor and the willingness to work hard. I enjoy teaching Calculus I and II because my own specialty, Chemical Engineering, is based upon Calculus. It has been my experience that students tend to complicate Calculus and working with me they discover it's not as difficult as they had imagined. As an undergrad I work in Chemistry applied mathematical research and, as a result, have a great deal of experience explaining math to non-mathematicians. The ability to be flexible, to be able to explain my work from two different perspectives (math and chemistry) has given me an overall flexibility that helps me tutor students in the way that best benefits them individually. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, exercising, and hanging out with my family and friends.
