Informal tutoring experience throughout high school. I graduated with two high school diplomas, one from Gainesville High School and another one from the University of Cambridge in England. I am currently a teacher at Engineering for Kids in Gainesville, FL teaching students ages 4 to 14 science, math, and engineering concepts. I am very strong in writing skills and have an ACT reading/writing score of 32 and 31, respectively. I am well rounded in liberal arts as well, with a curriculum ranging from philosophy, anthropology, and linguistics to calculus and Java programming.

I've had many tutors in the past before and I find that the most effective way of learning material is for the student to put the material into practice under the guidance of someone experienced in the subject. After all, it is the student who will be learning the material, not the teacher. My approach with students is going over their lesson for the day and re-emphasizing what they learned. After answering any questions and clearing up confusing topics, I proceed to do many practice problems with the student, offering guidance along their learning journey. I am a very hands on, visual, and step by step learner and I adapt my style of teaching to meet those needs when teaching a student something new. I am serious, but at the same time fun...after all, the way a student learns a lesson is largely dependent on how the material is presented!
